Moving Intelligence targets the United Kingdom after German acquisition

ZALTBOMMEL, October 12th 2021 – Moving Intelligence, the innovative Dutch market leader in the field of vehicle and equipment security, trip logging and fleet management, now targets the United Kingdom. Moving Intelligence is taking over Phantom Tracking Systems based in Stockport, near Manchester. Earlier this year Berlin based PLT Software GmbH was acquired.

Phantom Ltd. was founded in 2002 with the goal to provide the UK market with a reliable track and trace system for motorhomes, caravans and cars. With success, over the course of the years the company, owned by brothers Stephen and Simon Cherry, saw their position grow enormously. Expansion of the product range was a logical consequence. Phantom Ltd. now offers a complete range of products to provide a solution for everybody who wants to secure and protect any moving object, adapted to individual needs.

With the acquisition Moving Intelligence grew to 84 employees in three countries. Phantom Ltd. brings along about 15.000 connections, which makes Moving Intelligence connect almost 100.000 objects with the needs of their customers. Moving Intelligence has the ambition to grow to 250.000 connected objects in ten countries in the upcoming years.

Patrick Horst, CEO Moving Intelligence commented: “We are very pleased to be able to take over Phantom Ltd.. The acquisition means that we are making a big step forward in expanding the boundaries of our market. The product range of Phantom Ltd., that distinguishes itself at the leisure vehicle market, is a welcome addition to our Dutch product range. On the other hand, our automotive solutions are particularly suitable for integration into the UK market.”

Moving Intelligence has the intention to bring their Dutch and German products to the UK market in addition to the product range that Phtonom Ltd. has. “With combining product ranges we will create added value for the UK consumers and businesses, which will ultimately lead to an even stronger position on the UK market. Certainly within the top segment of cars, in which Moving Intelligence is the Dutch preferred supplier for brands such as BMW, Audi, Mercedes and Porsche. In addition, in the field of fleet management, there is still a world to be won in the United Kingdom”, Horst says.

Moving Intelligence and Phantom Ltd. are eagerly looking forward to their collaboration and the growth this acquisition will bring about on both sides.

What is the difference between an AirTag and a Tracer?

AirTags and many other smart trackers have several limitations. If your car or other vehicle is stolen and you want to recover it, a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone must be nearby. Somewhere deep in the forests in Eastern Europe, in an abandoned industrial estate or perhaps in a container at the port, the chances of that are very slim. In addition, AirTags are easily detectable because they always emit a signal. Thieves can thus quickly find and remove the AirTag.

Moving Intelligence acquires EuropeTrack and SlimmGPS

After expansion to Germany and Great Britain, it was time to solidify our homebase in the Netherlands with two transactions specialized in fleet management and trip logging. According to Patrick Horst, CEO of Moving Intelligence: “Traditionally, we have a larger market share in security compared to fleet management in the Netherlands. The acquisition of two strong brands complements our position in fleet management as well as our service offering. Moreover, our Dutch team gains some very experienced members in especially sales and IT. I am very pleased to welcome the Europetrack and SlimmGPS team to the Mi Group!”
